Pharma has long relied on traditional data sources that capture claims data to tell them the success of their brand in the market. The market has not had access to data that tells them the story of what is happening in the process before a prescription even exists – the prescribing and market access journey. Forsyth understood the need for a dataset that could give insight into the administrative processes that most patients and prescribers must step through in order to gain access.
Forsyth came to market in January 2024, with a mission to provide deeper transparency around this process and to give pharma a clearer measure of who is interested in their brand, by offering Personalized Benefit Check data insights that capture the first indication of a prescriber’s interest for a brand. Additionally, Forsyth’s Prior Auth data goes one step further to help illuminate where there is a true intent to prescribe. Forsyth’s data is aimed at telling the story of brand selection and access. Claims Data and PA
At Forsyth Health, we use claims data to capture fragments of the prior authorization (PA) process, often expressed through claims rejected at the pharmacy for “PA required”. This does not indicate a PA was denied — only that one was not proactively submitted before sending a Rx to the pharmacy — leaving pharma teams to infer what happens next in this scenario. A follow‑through claim may suggest approval, while the absence of one is assumed to mean denial. To make this data actionable, teams often layer on payer criteria and educated guesses, resulting in vague conversations with prescriber offices that reference plan requirements but cannot confirm why a case was denied, limiting meaningful collaboration and scalable outreach.
Forsyth changes this by delivering near real‑time PA case data as it’s actively processed through the payer, including approved and denied cases that never reach the pharmacy. This visibility into the full PA lifecycle — when a case is initiated, its status, denial reasons, and appeal activity — enables earlier intervention, reveals hidden volume, and supports deeper, more informed prescriber conversations.
